Inspects, tests, maintains, and repairs carburetion, ignition, and electrical systems on all types of automotive equipment.
Determines causes of malfunctioning. Disassembles, repairs, and replaces worn or damaged parts of carburetors, fuel pumps, starters, coils, panel instruments, and wiring systems. Reassembles and tests units for satisfactory performance. Must be thoroughly familiar with the construction and operation of automotive carburetion, ignition, and electrical systems.
Must be skilled in the use of appropriate mechanic's hand and bench tools and testing devices.
