Supervises and coordinates the activities of enlisted specialists in an automotive repair shop in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of motor vehicles.
Supervises the inspection of incoming equipment to determine nature and extent of needed repairs. Lays out and assigns work and performs more difficult or unusual repair operations. Inspects and tests finished work. Must be thoroughly familiar with all phases of automotive repair. Must be able to lay out work. Must understand theory, construction, and operation of automotive equipment. Note—Use SSN 014 for supervision of only first and second echelon repairs.
