Installs, maintains, and repairs refrigerating equipment used to manufacture ice or to preserve perishable foods and medical supplies.
May install, maintain, and repair air conditioning equipment, ice cream machines, and ice flakers. Must know general principles of the operation of refrigeration plants. Must be able to repair refrigerating equipment components, such as compressors and condensers, and to make adjustments to and minor repairs on refrigerating equipment power units of the electric motor, gasoline engine, and Diesel engine types.
